A generation was creat'd in chains, but now in a faraway land they merry. And many of them who were not taken away in shackles remain here living as semi-free slaves. O dear, I lament for the nation that bore my nationality. A nation whose pride of freedom is dent'd by wolves whom they selected as elders. What in this nation is not bought? The polls are, the freedom of the masses is and so is our right to balanced diet. Will I claim that I regret to be a Nigerian or will I just enjoy the endowment laid upon my hairy head by a people immun'd to corruption, an anthology of fools that reads their pages into the streets and walls of our once adorn'd nation, their pages that bore diseases of greed, pains and crimes. Oh dear, something inside of me screams, "I regret to be a NIGERIAN!" But am I?
It's beginning to get to us all, these wolves amongst us pose as leaders don't have any plan for the youths of these nations. These freed wolves as paint'd this nation bad in the whole world. Our youths minds are poison'd, so they seek survival in the civilized form of the ancient word, "419," recreated as scam or fraud. The internet has more of bad stories on my people than the good. I guess the eagle-eyed crook call'd web had cease to see people like Wole Soyinka, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and more. These were people this nation fathered and mothered, but the many bad had sunk the grace of our nation.
Where Lies The Future of A Nation Dying Young? Nigeria is a great nation whose leaders had brew'd wolves and crooks. Come heal our land, I still wonder to whom I shall pray, for even the good Lord above, most of us had disrespect'd and of course, the Holy name yell'd in vain.
