Nick-Venter Shamilimo Edwards has not been writing for the past 10 years.

Between 1990 and 1995 he penned more than 60 plays that were produced and aired on The Zambia Radio Drama, a popular radio theatre segment on Radio 2 of the Zambian National Broadcasting Corporation that airs nationwide (in Zambia).

Among the most popular plays were the 16-episode (30minutes per episode) political satire His Right Dishonourable the Minister, the melodrama Honour of Sanctity, in which the main character is executed for "indulging in the pleasures of the king", A Family Affair, and A Dirge for Ufenji, the story of a promising young man who settles for a village maiden regardless fo the price: his life.

Nick-Venter Edwards comes froma journalism background, having worked more of a freelance journalist although he worked fulltime on a private tabloid 1995 – 1997 from Features Editor to Subeditor. He is a systems administrator with a great bias in Internet/networks security. He is also an accomplished computer graphics specialist and webmaster.

Nick-Venter is just about to resume his writing after the 10-year "sabbatical" that he worked as IT Manager?specialist and Computer Graphics Specialist 1998 – 2008. Currently, he works fulltime as Comuter Graphics Specialist for a USAID-funded health communication project in his country Zambia. Regardless of his recent non-wiritng and non-journalism engagements, he continues to write articles in the local dailies and online. He is also writer, editor and publisher of the in-house Focus newsletter that he initiated for his workplace, Health Communication Partnership Zambia.

Nick-Venter has been married to Gloria since 17 February 2001 and they have 4 children: 3 girls and 1 boy.
