"The Prescient," by Mark Wildyr
Erotica Exotica blends many of my favourite things together into one melting pot - the supernatural or paranormal, gay fellas, interesting world building (often contemporary), and - sometimes - happy endings.
I really enjoyed the world building in this story, which involved a vampire who falls in love - or bloodlust - with a young man with a family lineage that gifts him as a "prescient." Those who are prescient can sense the vampires better, but also make for more rewarding bonding - if they don't turn on you first, or worse yet, become hunters themselves. The empathy/antipathy that flares through this tale was edgy and atmospheric, and I enjoyed discovering this world. I'm not sure if Wildyr revisits this setting elsewhere, but it's definitely something to look into.
