Today, just before the end of my shift - BAM - my headache hit. I made it home, but I'm going to bed soon.
"Deletion," by Robert J. Holt
There's a real bittersweetness to this one that gave me a pang that stayed for a good while after reading, and I say that as someone who truly loves spinning bittersweet stories. Found in Friend. Follow. Text.:#storiesFromLivingOnline, this story is of a relationship that's fading, and of another that could never be, and a man who knows the danger of time's passage.
The real soft touch of the tale is how Holt weaves so much into those last few lines of the story. There's regret and love and a kind of aching loneliness that just struck me right down to the bone. Beautiful.
