At the End of the Tunnel

A while back I had the joy of being given the mock-ups of the cover for Light. After choosing from among the options - did I mention how freaking awesome it is to work with Bold Strokes? - the choice was made, tweaked slightly for my silly wee apostrophe, and then I had it. The cover.

Now, until the release date is set for the publication schedule, these things remain unshared. If you know me, you know how much I love freaking sharing the covers of books when I get an anthology cover. You can imagine how I felt having an image of the cover of Light and not being able to share it.

Well, two words: October fourteenth.

I got the confirmation today, while I was at work. Man did that make me grin, and tremble, and a host of other contradictory and nerve-wracking effects. I still have work to do, I know. I still don't always feel like this is happening, in a "pinch me" sort of way. But sharing this? This makes it so freaking awesome:

To say I'm happy with this cover is an understatement. It reminds me of many of the spec fic titles I've read and loved, and perfectly goes with the telepathic tone of the tale. I love it. I sincerely hope my words can live up to that cover.

Now, to bed. I work again in the early morning, and want to still have some energy left over for the novel when I get home.

I can't wait.
