‘Nathan Burgoine grew up a reader and studied literature in university while making a living as a bookseller—a job he still does, and still loves. His first published short story was “Heart” in the collection Fool for Love: New Gay Fiction. Since then, he has had over a dozen short stories published, and his first novel LIGHT is due to arrive in 2013 from Bold Strokes Books.
A cat lover, ‘Nathan managed to fall in love and marry Daniel, who is a confirmed dog person. Their ongoing “cat or dog?” détente continues (and will likely soon end with the acquisition of a dog). They live in Ottawa, Canada, where socialized health care and gay marriage have yet to cause the sky to cave in.
'Nathan has been a lover of "our world, just a bit more magical" since he was young and reading Christopher Pike and Roald Dahl. Growing into Alice Hoffman and Charles De Lint, and the wonderful explosion of other urban fantasy authors such as Patricia Briggs, Jim Butcher, and Carrie Vaughn, he attempts to add a little pink to the magic in most of his tales.
'Nathan's first novel, LIGHT, is due to release from Bold Strokes Books in 2013.

'Nathan dabbles in photography in a very amateur way, snowshoeing when it actually snows the right amount, and sometimes sculpts fondant bunnies for the tops of cakes. He is easily addicted to "collect them all" type games (Packrat, Gowalla, Pocket Frogs) and his husband begs you not to show him any others you might know.
