You have all heard of him......Charles Dickens. His novels and stories have touched the world from corner to corner. He has written legendary and classic novels such as : "A Christmas Carol; A Tale of Two Cities, Our Mutual Friend, Oliver Twist, David Cooperfield." But my favorite of his, so far anyway( i still have a few of his works to read) is "Great Expectations." It follows the life of "Pip" Phillip, a poor boy who is neglected and pushed around most of his life. He trys to be a rich, ambitious person, what his rich neighbor, Mrs. Havisham, expects of him. He is expected to marry rich, be successful, forget his poverty filled past, and shun all "commoners." His "great expectations." Yet, in the end, he refuses to bend, and decides ultimately to just 'be himself.'
