My favorite novel is Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. Thus, it should be no surprise that my favorite character name(s) come from the novel itself. There are many great character names in the novel. For example, Wesley Mouch, who sells out first his employer, Hank Rearden and then his "friend", Jim Taggart, is a true mooch (and user).
But my two favorite names have to be John Galt, who, although mentioned throughout, doesn't even appear until the last third of the novel, but drives the whole story, and Francisco d'Anconia, who is the childhood friend of Dagny Taggart and Eddie Willers as well as the owner of d'Anconia Copper in Chile. Of course, one of the reasons that it is one of my favorite character name is that his full name is as follows:
Francisco Domingo Carlos Andres Sebastian d'Anconia
What an absolutely cool, aristocratic name! Not only that but he is one of the pivotal characters in the story, acting as a playboy in order to hide his true mission. Anyhow, I love those character names, in particular! And I love the novel!
