A small stone....January 3
Blog Post by Nancy Smith - Jan.03.2012 - 2:17 pm
As I was walking to the library for my volunteer job, I noticed the sidewalk. From this, I got my small stone for the day. A small stone is a description of a moment or event in which the person pays particular attention to the details.
In my case, my small stone for January 3:
The sidewalk is covered lightly with drifted snow; here and there, I see the icy footprints of a fellow traveler, and I follow in his footsteps. They disappear for a bit, then reappear further down the walk, then totally disappear. Where did he go? Am I really going the same way?
I know this one needs much polishing and shaping, but for now, it will have to do.

Nan, I like this small stone.
Nan, I like this small stone. It has a sense of mystery. I feel like the cool snow and can hear the ice crunching underfoot. It feels like this could be the beginning of something but I appreciate it for itself: A small stone.
Reb, thanks..
for your kind remarks. To me, it seems unfinished, too, but you, like some others, seem to like it as is. Now, to find my small stone for today. ~nan
