Monty Heying's Biography
Member Info
Originally from Texas, I currently hail from the San Francisco Bay Area. My short stories and poems have won contests and been published in various literary magazines, including Forum and Synchronized Chaos.
My current novel-in-progress is based on my years in a Texas orphanage during the 1950s and '60s. I am naturally drawn to the orphan archetype and my work explores the lives and environment of abandoned children. I strive to honor their struggle as well as the heroes who make their journey into adulthood more bearable. My poems tend to be about nature and the human condition.
