I am the author of three published novels; Parting is all We Know of Heaven (1989) Harper& Row; Living in Arcadia (1991) Bantam, Doubleday, Dell; Stone Garden HarperCollins 2003. Stone Garden was the featured alternate by the Doubleday Book Club, and the Literary Guild Book Club. It was chosen as The New York Times Notable Book of 2003, Booksense 76 for 2003. I have also published a number of short stories in Mademoiselle Magazine, Nimrod, North American Review, and several anthologies.
Recently my non-fiction essay "How to Have a Good Divorce" was selected by the Chicago NPR affiliate arts program, 848 for broadcast and was selected to be read this October in the Guild Complex non-fiction essay contest. Another non-fiction essay, "How to Be a Stepmother" was published on the website, LiteraryMama.
