Here are a few illustrations from my children's book I Don't Fit. The story centers around Bragdon, a misfit boy who is part monster, part furry animal. The other monsters and furry animals reject him for not being like them, and when he fights back, they throw him out. He goes on a journey to a place he has heard of called Bienvenue Mountain, where people who are different can be embraced. On the way, he befriends another misfit, Snakeosaurus, a large girl snake with two feet and stegosaurus plates. They brave dangers together to help each other find their way to Bienvenue Mountain, enjoying some amazing sights on the way, such as the Stained Glass Mountains. Bienvenue Mountain turns out to be everything they hoped for, full of red grass, whales on bicycles and flying cats, but first Bragdon and Snakeosaurus must conquer some fears they had brought with them.
