After writing for over twenty years, I had thought I knew just about everything I needed to. Of course, I'm always looking for ways to improve my skills, and I treat every new project as a learning opportunity. But I hadn't realized how much there is to learn about publishing and promoting!
Every day, I'm struck with how vast the Internet sea is, and how small my books and I are. There are hundreds of thousands of books and e-books on Amazon, Smashwords and Barnes and Nobles! It's so easy to feel 'swallowed up' and lost. And discouraged.
But, luckily, I've run across a few good websites that give indie writers like myself some great tips on how to get our names out there. This, of course, is just a very small sampling of what's available, but just like the number of books be overwhelming, so can the number of ideas for writers. So, to make it less complicated, I've picked my top three.
- Publetariat.com - offers a huge list of ideas on how to promote your books...without spamming!
- FaceBook - create a fan page for you and your work.
