Michelle was born in a very small village in Cumbria, one of four children to her late parents. She wanted to be a nurse, but after having major back surgery in her late teens, she was advised to try and find a profession that would be kind to her back. She studied Catering and Hotel Management, but after leaving college in 1997 and working for a short time in a hotel she decided that this career was not going to be the kindest on her back so she joined a model agency and became a model booker along side being a commercial model, she continued with this career up until she became a mum. She now works in an accountancy firm working as an admin assistant and writes in her spare time. Michelle has wanted to write a book since the death of her mother in 2001, but it wasn’t until some seven years later, after the sudden death of her father that she started to start work on her current project. She is working on getting her first book published. It’s a very simple book of poetry that she has written during her period of grief. She is hoping that her readers will be able to relate to the messages in her poetry.
