"Librarian with a twist" refers to my roles as an entrepreneur, academic, reporter, writer and corporate executive who never worked in a library after earning her M.L.S. I'm a news junkie, magazine junkie, and book collector now living in the chaotic world of start-up companies. Sometimes I long to sit behind a reference desk! Being a librarian in our age of online search makes you wonder about that professional role 10 years from now. I find the Internet exciting but still love wandering around, aimlessly, in a public library. . .reading from books in many categories.
Along the way, from my first job at a Xerox company in Ann Arbor to my current San Franciso start-up, I tried all sorts of outdoor stuff. Tennis, golf, private pilot, scuba diving, triathlons (1980's), bicycle trips, motorcycling, and walking my Old English Sheepdogs. Today, my favorite pastimes have not changed. . . learning new things, mentoring others and enjoying friends and family, especially my husband, who excels at the outdoor stuff. I hope to put all this in a book someday, either as a memoir or fiction, based my experiences. Right now the only things I have "published" are a very dull business thesis and a couple of magazine articles. I have a long way to go!
Running, swimming, bicycling, golf, scuba diving, flying, motorcycling, reading biographies, reading lots of magazines/journals, reading print newspapers while they last, learning to weave
