Our house is six years old as of last year. Finished in October, 2006, we're the first people who lived in it.
Two months after it was officially finished, two months after the furnace's warranty expired, the furnace gave us its first issues. A part failed and had to be replace.
This weekend, the hot water heater went out. Its warranty ended about a year ago. I'll be calling in a plumbing to find out the extent of the problem. As far as we're concerned, the pilot light won't stay lit so the hot water heater won't heat, store and deliver hot water.
Really speaks volumes about modern manufacturing when appliances fail right after the warranties end.
Walking around the house, I'm wondering what else has a warranty expiring.
