Had an impromptu two by two evening -
A two mile walk to meet two friends. We visited for two hours and I had two beers. Then I walked two miles home.
The friends were Beckie & Becky, which might be a good title for a television show about two divorced women who start a pet sitting agency that becomes a pet finding agency that transitions into a private detective agency as they attempt to clear a friend of murder, or something like that.
Fanastic that I've met two writing companions whose company is so enjoyable. Fun sitting with other writers, drinking beer, gabbing about books and writing, bouncing ideas and concepts off one another as a heavy late afternoon rain shower chases people around the street and sidewalks outside. We caught up on one another's projects. My update - still focusing on the novel in progress, completed page 400 today. I label my novel the AOSFF genre - adult outrageous science fiction fantasy, featuring time travel, aliens, evolution, finessing reality, dragons, drinking beer, affairs and divorces, four hundred lovely edited, revised, and polished pages. Just a few more pages...a little more polishing like crazy....
Beckie had a new short story published last Sunday. She and Becky are making great progress on their non-fiction book about wolves and Oregon 7. Becky and I laughed about the many ideas that flirt with our imagination that we'd like to pursue.
Alas, the beer was not exciting, a Steelhead oatmeal stout. Sorry, but I've been seduced by the Caldera Mogli. Brewed by a rival, it thus wasn't available.
We left after two hours vowing to meet more frequently. Even though the beer wasn't exciting, it was was part of a good day -- good writing session, good friends, good fun, good walk, good night.
