Saw "The Hobbit" today.
I was disappointed. It wasn't the book that I remembered.
I hadn't read any reviews of it. After LOFR, I had high expectations.
So I was going to write what I liked and disliked about TH but as I was looking up some trivia, I discovered a review who put what I thought quite well.
I refer you to Laura Hudson's reviewed from Wired: "An Unexpected Failure: The Hobbit".
She wrote what I thought and saved me the time.
As always, the comments below her review are also interesting. Either way, Hudson captured the essence of my disappointment with the movie. I then checked it out on Rotten Tomatoes. It scored a 68, not too good.
As for trailers, well, we attended the 3D version so we were treated to 3D previews, like "Man of Steel", which is about Superman, and "Jurassic Park", the original movie, now in 3D.
As I was leaving, I saw a poster for a new "Star Trek" movie coming out.
Great. Sounds original. Like my review of "The Hobbit", right? Ha.
