Oh, The Wise Ted Nugent

I read this tidbit on Taggen Goddard's Political Wire:

Ted Nugent Wants to Take Away the Vote

Though he once predicted he would be dead or in jail if President Obama was re-elected, musician Ted Nugent takes to the Washington Times with a new proposal to disenfranchise some Americans:

"Let's also stop the insanity by suspending the right to vote of any American who is on welfare. Once they get off welfare and are self-sustaining, they get their right to vote restored. No American on welfare should have the right to vote for tax increases on those Americans who are working and paying taxes to support them. That's insane."

Oh, he is so wise and so right!  Why should people no longer working get to vote on what happens to the money they've already paid into taxes and their righs as a citizen?  As Ted says, that's insane.

It's probably unconstitutional, too, for people who aren't working and paying taxes to vote.  Didn't it say that in one the Bill of Rights, that if you're not working and paying taxes, you shouldn't be allowed to vote?

I think Nugent knows insane so we should pay attention.

How about those who have never been in a war voting to go to war?  Why should they get to decide who should be cannon fodder when they've never served themselves?  So off with their vote!  Then, once they've served in the military, they'll have their vote restored.

And how about those men who vote on women's reproductive rights?  Let's apply the Nugent Maxim here:

"Let's stop the insanity by suspending the right to vote on reproductive rights of any American who can't bear children - like men. No American who doesn't have the reproductive systems necessary to give birth to a child should be able to vote on the reproductive rights of the people who can and have given birth to a child.  That's insane."

And another place where Nugent's Insane Maxim can apply is worker's rights:  "Let's stop the insanity by suspending the right to vote on workers' rights of any American who has never worked a minimum wage job.  No American who has never worked in a minimum wage job should be able to vote on workers' rights of the people who work in minimum wage emploment.  That's insane."

By God, Nugent is onto some insanity here.  We can apply the Nugent Maxim to gay, lesbian, transsexuals and bi-sexual rights, too.  "Let's stop the insanity by suspending the right to vote on GLBT rights of any American who aren't GLBT.  No American who hasn't suffered from the discrimination and lack of freedom from being GLBT should be able to vote on GLBT rights. That's insane."

While we're at it, we'll write some Nugent Insane Maxims for the minorities, too.  How can you vote for minority rights and decide what they deserve if you're not a minority?  That's insane!

And then, probably the best Nugent Insane Maxim of all:

"Let's stop the insanity by suspending the ability to spend money on political campaigns by anyone who is not born as a human - like corporations, PACs, and churches. Nobody but a human being should be able to vote for who represents them and governs human beings.  Nobody who doesn't live in the region where they vote should be able to spend money to influence what happens in that region - be it a town, city, county, township, state, province, territory, commonwealth or parish.

"Because otherwise, that's insane."
