Okay, this appeals to word lovers but people who like data may also enjoy it.
First, I've just discovered Ideas Illustrated through Good Morning Silicon Valley. I like the site and its presentations. They present...ideas...illustrated....
Ideas Illustrated shows English word, suffix and root origins, and highlights them with colors, using Douglas Harper's online dictionary of etymology. I like words and expressions and wonder how they come about, but also like the online dictionary of etymology as a science fiction and fantasy writer to help develop words and titles for things I write, so this is win win for me.
Mkinde presents five text samples covering sports, medicine, the United Nations, American lit, and British lit. After creating the color/root associations, mkinde provides pie charts to display the proportions so you can more easily visualize the differences between the five samples.
Pie charts about words. Quite cool.
