Feeling a Bit Pleased
I'm quite full of myself today. Received a number of comments out of the blue about how people admired my intelligence and thought me smart. Is there a conspiracy out there to bulk up my ego.
The young women behind the Beanery's counter coquettishly joked I didn't need to use non-fat milk, I was already skinny and perfect. What, I already tip you, I replied but it's very nice to hear words like that.
This was on top of my wife catching up with friends on the phone yesterday after work. She told friends and family how much we walked around Santa Fe and Corvallis during our visits, and then I went off for work outs. Of course, she's battling with a disease but it still pleased me that my walking and work out efforts impressed her, she who knows me best.
Hearing compliments is good; giving them is also great. After I felt so good, I had to spread some around.

I received a phone call from my boss today. She wanted to talk to me about possibly paying me a stipend to continue to run my department. Ok, so I've been doing this for two years without compensation, but flattery,and a little extra dough, made my day. It's nice to finally get some recognition for a job well done.
I spread the compliments around to my colleagues as well. We are a good team.
