I've entered Day 3. Still feel good. Lost five pounds over the past two days. As a body shape, I appreciate it when five pounds leave. Let's hope they abandoned me.
Slept great. My white robed instructor didn't come (it is a holiday) but I dreamed of attending a school. Graduation was coming up in the dream school. It was a huge campus, old buildings in gothic granite. My classmates - no one I recognized - and I were being oriented about the activites and sequence. I wasn't paying attention and kept losing and finding my class. Part of it was that there was a lot of, "Now come in here and sit here, and we'll go through the next step." Then we would sit in boredom awaiting the next step. To cope with that, I carried a radio and was listening to news, speeches and stories, really quite a variety. At the end, as I passed two other students searching for my class, they looked at me and one said, "That's productive. We should be doing that, instead of standing here doing nothing."
I've discovered the juice fast's drawbacks. Spent about seven hours on yard and garden work the last two days. Lawn, shrubs, trees and bushes all look inviting and pleasant. I'm pleased. It's my tradition when finishing to sit down with a cold beer or glass or wine, admire the results and think. I substituted water for wine and beer but the sub lacked something the others deliver. Resisting and staying to the juicing fast wasn't hard; my beer cupboard is empty. There's no beer in the house. There was wine and port, however....
They weren't as tempting. Being all sweaty and dirty, feeling the perspiration drip down off my hair and drying on my face, calls for a cold beer.
I am also missing steak.
It was a low 70s day, lots of sunshine drowning the late afternoon and I thought, this would be a nice day to grill a steak. Nothing big, maybe a T-bone, porterhouse, New York strip or sirloin. The sizzle filled my hearing and the smell of the meat searing fueled dreams. Maybe grill some onions and mushrooms with it, add some Mexican corn on the cob and a small salad....
It would have been nice with a cold beer.
