His new book is the non-fiction action adventure "On Thin ice," set in the Arctic and released in hardcover by Hyperion. “Christmas Letters from Hell” published by Simon & Schuster, was the #1 best-seller in the holiday book category for 2007. His other books include the graphic novel "Prey: Origin of the Species” published by Marvel Comics and “Breakfast with Sharks” published by Random House, a film industry best-seller for 2004. He produced the movies WITCHES’ NIGHT, NAKED IN AMERICA and the award winning HARD SCRAMBLED. He also wrote, directed and produced the animated short SANTA & SATAN: TAXI CAB CONFESSIONS. As a screenwriter, he has sold, optioned or been assigned to 11 feature film projects including THE HELLSEEKER for Miramax Studios. In 2005, Lent received the Gold Remi award for screenwriting at the Houston Worldfest. He is a writer on the upcoming XBox 360 sequel game to Vigilante 8. Currently, he is writing a video game, as well as graphic novel for the Slime Sandwich Company.
From 1997-2006, he was a featured columnist and contributing editor for Creative Screenwriting Magazine.
Lent holds an M.F.A. from the University of Miami, B.A. from Hamilton College and has taught in the UCLA Extension/Artsreach Program and at Santa Barbara City College. He began his career at MTV.
