Meryl Ann Doromal's Biography
Member Info
The eldest in a brood of 6, I grew up to learn that life's responsibilities tend to add up as one grews older. I finished my elementary and high school with grades my parents are proud of but that was only to prove that being big should never hinder me from getting what I want and doing my responsibilities. I finished college in MSU-IIT where I learned that the our cultural system is the root of all societal problems and solving the 3 basic problems of the country would free us from this rotten system.
I've taught English subjects in the tertiary level way back 2004 until 2009 in one of the universities in Caraga Region. During my teaching stint, I also became a technical adviser of the university's student publication and I also had the chance to technically edit research proposals and special papers for graduating students.
And in a twist of fate and my decision too, I got married in 2009 and had two children. My life's responsibilities got heavier but more meaningful. Motherhood and family life may have its fussy sides yet, I wouldn't trade its rewards that I glean everyday.
As of now, I am working as a technical support staff in a Non-Government Organization based in Surigao City in which my scope of work includes conceptualizing and writing proposals, appeals, reports, training modules; documenting seminars and trainings, consolidating data for research and doing other technical stuff for presentations and other activities.
I'd like to be part of the RedRoom because I don't want the creative writer in me to wilt or worse die due to the technical world that I am in right now.
