Palacio is a 2007 PEN Center USA Emerging Voices Fellow. Her poetry chapbook, Folsom Lockdown, is the Sense of Place winner, Kulupi Press, 2009. She has been widely anthologized, including New Poets of the American West and Latinos in Lotusland: An Anthology of Southern Contemporary Fiction. Ocotillo Dreams is her first novel, Arizona State University Bilingual Press, 2011. She recently completed a full-length poetry manuscript, How Fire Is a Story, Waiting
