where the writers are
I'm back....

Hey Guys,

A thousand apologies for my absence... it's been a hectic few months but judging by my last entry I've been absent since January...oh dear!  Well, a lot has happened since January in terms of my writing and I have written heaps too I might add.  I've also been up to all sorts during my absence *winks* most of which has been very productive; hopefully I'll be able to share some of that with you soon.

Writer's block hasn't affected me too much of late, what I'm really suffering from is writer's overload. Why is that everything I see or hear automatically becomes a story or another chapter? I've got enough to write as it is and it doesn't help that the day job is eating away at my valuable writing time; thank God for the memo pad in my Blackberry phone, currently home to about 10 chapters and a short story, all written on the daily commute these past few weeks!

My third novel "The Business trip" is progressing very slowly but that's only because my random fourth novel "At The Club" has taken over and is coming along nicely.

I bumped into an old friend recently and that inspired a short story which then became an epic. So after some careful consideration and a rewrite it reverted back to being a short story.  Then again, how short is a short story?  And if it is very short, can it still be classed as a story?  That piece is finished now by the way and was posted on my website yesterday along with an absolutely delicious picture... mmmm.

Aahhh I've just realised, if a story is very short it is more of a piece than a story...right?  Let it go Meg, it is what it is and you're rambling....AGAIN!

So where was I... oh yeah, I had a conversation with an admirer which inspired yet another short "piece" that is now posted on my website (have a look when you get a chance).

Speaking of websites, I have a new website thanks to the support and assistance of a very dear friend of mine iamfingazz.com - couldn't have done it without their skill, advice and expertise. Check it out:

This website contains the random short "pieces" I've written, some of which are based on things I see or accidentally on purpose overhear.

At the moment (in between writing), I'm doing what I call 'research' for cool pictures to attach to my short "pieces" as I write them.  I've seen and approached several potential models who are all willing to adopt certain poses for me on request; how cool is that?

What else can I update you on....? I've got 5 minutes before I need to sign off and do other things.

I've started coaching some others interested in writing Erotica, I'm doing book readings and just generally putting my work out there for all to enjoy.  Check out the events page on my website for details of my next reading and other Erotic Creative writing events.

My Twitter followers has grown somewhat in the last few days; I'm humbly grateful for those that have followed me recently and hopefully I'm following you back and retweeting your work.
If I'm not following you back, please poke me as a reminder.  Wait up, poking is a facebook thing *shakes head*

Tweet me @megphilip if I'm not following you back and I'll make it right.  I'm on facebook too - Meg Philip Author add me if you like.

And that my lovelies is all I've got time for at the moment. Take care, have a fabulous weekend and don't do anything I wouldn't do but if you do, I want to hear ALL the details.

Meg xxxx
