WHY THE SUN SCORCHES THE SONS OF AFRICA
WHY THE SUN SCORCHES THE SONS OF AFRICA
--- and because in Africa,
The umbrella provides shelter from the rains
And not the scorching sun,
Those who repose under the umbrella’s protection
Do not feel the muddy patches
Which wet the feet of the masses.
But when the Harmattan sets in
And the scorching sun penetrates the dents
And shatters the umbrella,
The cooling system under the shade
Is soon exposed to combustion,
And the blazing sun sets aflame
The horrific bizarre of crimes
Perpetrated behind the security walls
Of the umbrella.
And that is why
The sun scorches the sons of Africa
And makes them black like Negroes.
