I am knee deep in promoting two new books, one released in June and the other coming in July. Whew! What a whirlwind. I keep telling myself that it will all be worth it when my sales numbers soar and my publisher comes back to me with a contract for my next book, but in the meantime, I haven't had time to work on that next book.

And I haven't had much time for my poor horse, Banjo.

Most of us authors feel that same tension between the time we put into promoting and the time left for writing, and knowing that I am not alone is what keeps me sane through all this. I belong to several lists with folks who are most willing to share tips on marketing and promting. One is MurderMustAdvertise and the other is the Five Star Author list. It is true that authors are about the most caring, generous folks around.

I'm new to Red Room and hope to be able to visit often and get to know the rest of the members.
