In College I majored in Romance Languages, French, Spanish and Italian. I love languages and I love traveling and each time I visit a new country I study the language. When I lived on the Big Island of Hawaii I taught French and Spanish at Parker School. When I lived in Tetuan, Morocco I studied Arabic for two years but never really felt at home with it. I remember several times when I had dreams in Arabic and I was speaking pefect Arabic but Maryanne, the dreamer could not understand any of it. I studied Mandarin and Japanese at the New School for Social Research in New Yrok but when I went to China I could only remember a few words. I spent two years inBrazil and studied Portuguese at the University I spoke good Portuguese then but now I don't do so well. But I have learned that when i speak even a few words of a language Iam welcomed warmly.
