To celebrate the birthday of Literary Death Match's Most Important Person* in full volume, we're returning to the Elbo Room in SF for a night packed with oddity, wonderment, bemusement, and some serious literary talent. This, folks, will be a night to remember.
The memorializing night will feature a freakishly talented foursome of lit-brillianteurs, including New Yorker 20-Under-40ist and MacArthur Genius Yiyun Li (author of Gold Boy, Emerald Girl and The Vagrants), poet/author/playwright Kevin Killian (author of Impossible Princess and editor of the American Book Award-winning My Vocabulary Did This to Me: The Collected Poetry of Jack Spicer), Though Catalog contributor Charles Warnke (writer of You Should Date an Illiterate Girl), and novelist Colin Winnette (author of Revelations, and forthcoming novel Animal Collection).
They'll be judged by a wickedly fresh trio of fantasticians, including best-selling author/award-winning journalist Mary Roach (Packing for Mars, Spook and Stiff), Chronicle Books' publisher Nion McEvoy, lounge singer extraordinaire Bud E Luv, and a third still to come!
