I'm not talkin' about moving my place of residence, but about moving books. Have you had this experience?
I mean, I'm happy with the printing and distribution company I've used, but their fulfilment fees are killing me. My book sells steadily but slowly, and they charge me something around $50/month just to house and distribute my books to Ingram and Baker and Taylor, and thence to bookstores, leaving me with a very small monthly profit.
I'm thinking I need to work directly with B & T and Ingram, but has that worked for anybody out there? And how does one initiate such a relationship? Send them a letter? What?
I could sure use some advice from other self-publishers who have done this.
