Just got back from a long car trip to Vancouver Island, B.C., where Carl and I were guests for five wonderful, relaxing days at the Sooke Harbour House on the shores of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, which has some of the best food anywhere (and great art and rooms with fireplaces, decks and views), to find I'd received another "Finalist" award in the Humor category for Accidental Cowgirl. I'm glad some find it humorous. I mostly remember it as hard work.
I also came home to my first negative review (I knew it had to happen). It's amazing that, despite nearly a year's worth of positive feedback from readers, plus several positive reviews, how devastating the experience can be, but I have to admit I agreed with the reviewer on a couple of counts (humorous, no?)
Oh well. I expect some of you, dear readers, have had similar experiences. Wanna share, so I don't feel so bad? Or so you don't?
I'll share a few pics of the trip to B.C. Anyone else out there been to Sooke Harbour? Care to review your experience?
