That's Larry Rivera, dubbed by the Governor and the Kauai Museum as "Kauai's Living Legend." Larry started out at the Coco Palms Hotel and worked there till it fell into ruin with Hurricane Iniki. He's very much in demand. I knew him for a while and then learned he lived down my street. When I asked him if he would come play at my signing, he said... "Sure." Not only did he play, his humor was contagious. The following week, I went to see his show at a local tourist hotel. He invited me up to say a few sentences about my new novel, River Bones. What a hoot! His jokes are killer and I sold 7 more books - all I had in my car. Could have sold a dozen more.
