Self
I'm in Barcelona, sharing a small room with a one legged Americanwith literary pretensions. Still; Even two legged people need crutches or at least a self inflatednarrative of one sort or another to hold themselves up to people . I forgivehim which is big of me I'll admit. I arrived in my shared room in the middle of the day, lent my stiltsagainst the wall and...

Vance McCunt was a busy man, you don't get to run a division of a wall street bank without a combination of wealth creation and a certain 'theater of busyness.'
The financial implements he'd helped create sustained wealth and a lifestyle that to outsiders would appear almost hallucinogenic he pondered as he cut across 6th avenue and 67th street. A block...

I flew into Dublin, checked into some gentrified B&B on the banks of the Liffey downtown and dumping my luggage, went to peruse Grafton street.
It was to become my newest home, home is where the audience are, an amorphous zone, self manifest and shared, celebratory.
Dublin in the main appeared chipper and optimistic. [After the dark jowls of...

I did a charity gig, a birthday party for a 7 year old at a Mennonite compound in upper state NY. They were going to pay me in maple syrup and a sideboard for the bathroom. These people dress funny and tend to conceive via second hand bathwater a little more frequently than average but they are pacifists and hard workers and gosh darn it clown is universal.
So...

Vegas is the place least likely to find an Amish in the world and so I thought I’d go there and look for one and though I searched extensively through the bars and Casinos my entire mission was fruitless.
There were 128 slot machines between the plane and the baggage retrieval so in theory you could lose all your money by the time you got to your luggage left...

Every morning, unheeded, I would in my bed, be vacuumed around by Japanese maids.
They ignored all protocols, gathering outside my door knocking and chattering like malevolent ducklings. They could not accept that any man still in bed after 10am could possess any pride or status worth defending and so three of them would burst into my room and set about their...

I had been working in Japan for over a year and had gained a reputation as a bit of a drinker.
After growing up in New Zealand where leglessness was next to godliness it was comparatively easy to reduce your Japanese companions to meek shuffling inebriated shells while you yourself felt the night just beginning.
I would often feign sleepiness and we would all go...

I was working in Copenhagen when I got my first nun. I'd been after a nun for ages and had narrowly missed a couple over the years. They would walk past as I was putting my stilts on or taking them off but in retrospect it was worth the wait because this nun was perfect.
I hid behind a corner as she walked past. I stalked her from behind, I blessed her and...

I've plonked it a few places online.
Firstly we must establish whether buttocks and their offspring are indeed funny at all.
Fact; there are a lot of jokes about bums and bum holes.
Fact; sometimes people laugh at these jokes.
Fact; Life contains an seemingly endless series of harrowing disappointments, bitter underwhelming anticlimaxes, ‘hallmark’ shallow sentiment, all too transparent cunning,...
