For all of you interested in memoir -- writing and reading it -- I want to make sure you know about the Memoir Festival that I am hosting at Omega Instiute, Rhinebeck, NY in 3 weeks' time: July 16-18.

It will be such a really great weekend. Here is the list of writers who will be there:  Malachy and Alphie McCourt, Nick Flynn (The Ticking Is the Bomb and Another Bullshit Night in Suck City), Susanna Sonnenberg (Her Last Death), Said Sayrafiezadeh (When Skateboards Will Be Free) and Darcey Steinke (Easter Everywhere) plus me and Fred Poole, the co-directors of Authentic Writing.

It's a time to be amongst others who have a real feeling for the art of memoir -- people who are writing it and those who want to begin. There will be workshops with Fred and Marta, Susanna and Nick. Plus discussions, readings, questions and answers, stories, experiences, conversation and connection. We'll talk too about the fine art of blogging and self-publishing. 

And Omega is a great place to spend a weekend -- relaxed, good food, nature, peace, a great staff to look after you.
