Red Room invited me to talk about neighbors, so here I am!
I've been living in the same place, an apartment, for 5 years. Since I arrived here my relationship with my neighbors haven't evolved so much. Most people who live in this building, are here for more than 20 years, with their family. Some of their relatives had gone, the grandchildren came and so one...
I came to talk to some of them due to my little dog, which has the excellent habit of visiting the other apartments. She just come in the places and feel she's home. People seem to like her, but my mother said maybe they just don't want to be unpolite. She said, kids do that, and people feel embarassed and don't want to say the don't like these kind of visitors.
When I was a child I used to visit my neighbors, everybody who used to live around said I visited every family to say "Hello" and eventually have a snack. That's so embarassing, at the same time it's kinf of funny. Can you imagine a 4 -5 yo coming to your house as a visitor, not a guest?
Well, I don't know if I were right or wrong, but for sure I was spontaneous. Nowadays, I never visit my neighbors spontaneously, as they don't visit me and both of us never invite each other to be guests atour houses.
It's weird, though I don't like to much people in my house, I kind of miss those unexpected visits my mother used to have at home in the past...
