This is a performance of poetry by Marilyn Kallet and Keith Flynn, held at the annual Southern Festival of Books in Nashville. Marilyn Kallet is the author of 16 books, including The Love That Moves Me, poetry from Black Widow Press, 2013. She directs the creative writing program at The University of Tennessee and teaches poetry workshops for the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in Auvillar, France. She is a previous winner of the Tennessee Arts Commission Literary Fellowship in poetry, and has served on the TAC Literary Arts review panel. Kallet has performed her poetry on campuses and in theaters across the United States, as well as in France and in Warsaw and Krakow, as a guest of the United States' Embassy's "America Presents" program.
Keith Flynn is the founder and editor of the Asheville Poetry Review. His newest book is Colony Collapse Disorder, Wings Press, 2013. In addition to poetry, Keith has published a volume on poetics, The Rhythm Method, Razzmatazz and Memory: How to Make Your Poetry Swing. Keith is the heartbeat of the group Keith Flynn and The Holy Men; he also formed and sang lead vocals for Crystal Zoo. In 2005 and 2006, Flynn served as the Gilbert-Chappell Distinguished Poet for North Carolina. Keith has performed his poetry around the world.
