One Can't Write All the Time
Blog Post by Marilyn Kallet - Jul.26.2008 - 10:53 am
I just deleted the last blog entry by accident! Whoa! I wanted to say that I've been coming here for writing residencies since 1979. I'm in the same writer's studio I had then, with its reassuring view of the mountain. The mountains are never fickle! I've made good friends here, among them Robert Reeves and Wayne Ferguson, who are beings made of light and humor. They have introduced me to Genevieve Whittemore, a Lynchburg poet, and she has introduced me to Beatrice, her miniature greyhound. Beatrice is helping me to write my next children's book, GAGE THE GREYHOUND WHO SAID NO. Friendships feed the writing and the soul.
