Tomorrow night I'll be reading poetry with Jane Satterfield from Loyola at the Virginia Center at Sweet Briar, 7:15 pm. Composer Ben Yarmolinsky will play classical music to entice people into the living room. Jane wants to go first--that's the best position, you have everyone's clear attention. But I'll wake them up! I took performance lessons from actor/director Kali Meister, who helped me before a big show at the Black Box Theatre in Knoxville. She taught me how to breathe and to block out the lines, taught me not to practice in a mirror, but to let the words and lines come from within. She helped me learn to memorize my poems. So tomorrow night, I'll knock their socks off! (gulp!) I really will! Cheers and good luck to you in your work, Marilyn
