Just heard from Ron Nesler who lives here in New Harmony. He transfused some reality into my thinking about the town. Says its arty facade is built on the backs of the working people who don't particularly want the touristy stuff. He has a great website for discussion about local issues, and about the struggle for a decent life in New Harmony. www.newharmonywatch.com.
It's amazing that Red Room can bring us together this way, help us test out what's really going down in the world. I'd rather know than not know.
Even so, there are magical places here--I think even Ron would agree. I'll post some photographs today.
