Woke up today to a beautiful boost on Facebook, from my friends at Connotation–Press An Online–Artifact. The kindness in their words amazed and delighted me! I suspect that Joani Reese--a fine poet in her own right--is behind these sweet notes. But it could be any of the generous editors at the magazine.
My gratitude is fierce. I tell my students to submit their work to Connotation; but it's a magazine that's open in style, multi-genred (including interviews and videos), and supportive of its contributors long after a piece appears in print.
We poets endure daily humiliations, so it's a tremendous boost to taste honor and respect. Thanks, Connotation! Here's what they said: Our pal, the wonderful Marilyn Kallet, has returned in this issue with three strong new poetry offerings: "From the Book of Excess," "Lucky River," and the stunning, "Losing It." Seemed like just about a perfect way to start the new week as we head outside to tackle the Herculean task of digging out our parking lot. Enjoy! Connotation Press: Winter, Winter, Winter, Winte..."
