You know, every time I start thinking that it's time to just take the whole blog down because it seems like I never have time to post here anymore, I first check the visitor stats and then see that thousands of you are still coming here! And then I feel so guilty!!
"Coming here to do what, exactly?" I ask myself! "Recall so fondly what it was like around here on St. Stephen's Day??!!" (7 weeks ago, in case math is not your strong suit.)
I apologize profusely to those of you who are still loyal readers and have nothing here to actually read. For crying out loud, I know what it's like to be under a killer deadline and want to do anything at all whatsoever on the Internet, that you can possibly think of, except meet that killer deadline even a moment before its due!! So, yes, I apologize to you if you needed to kill time here and I let you down... (How many times can we listen to the Irish whats-their-names singing Good King Wenceslas, anyway?)
Divinity school is going great, though, if that is of any consolation! I am only 6 courses away from my ministry degree -- if you can wrap your head around that, gang!
I am also very close to actually selling one of my screenplays to women's television, and also have gotten some incredible feedback in L.A. for the TV pilot I developed this past summer. Plus, the screenplay I wrote with my writing partner in Brooklyn is finally done, we are just hammering out those final revisions before sending it out there, and I have to say, folks, it is really funny and really silly and really cute. (It's a family feature film, aimed at tween girls -- but it is not stupid!! Yay!!)
So, yes, between being in school full time, and writing up a storm, and raking in those accolades, and trying to foster a colony of feral cats while also taking care of two aging and very, very opinionated non-feral cats, etc., etc. Life gets complicated. And oh, it looks like the developers are not taking over my property until spring/summer, so at least I don't have to buy a new house, pack up and move in the next 60 days... (That news is good yet not so good, since I already had a house picked out that I loved and the realtor and I were close to making an offer on it, then... Oh well. I'm sure I will find another dream house this summer.)
Back on the ministry front... For those of you who do not know, I am going to be launching my own ministry once I graduate. It will be open to all but it will be Christ-centered. It will be non-denominational, in the sense that I am creating my own denomination because a lot of what I believe about Jesus Christ's teachings is considered heretical. So thank the Lord that heresy is no longer punishable by death, right, gang?? Yay. But I am still going to be a traditionally trained minister in every other respect, and I am already technically ordained, so if you need me to come marry you or bless your pets or perhaps officiate at something sad, like a funeral, here I am.
When I am ready to unveil my ministry, it will be HERE. For now, though, there is nothing there but a blank page. (Oh, and a photo of Jesus on a different page, taken in one of those Salt Lake City Mormon museums or churches or something like that, but it is only there because I loved the photo. It looks like it should be called Christ in Space, or something. Anyway. Once my ministry is fully underway, I vow to stop stealing uncredited photos from the Internet and blithely posting them as if I had full rights to use them!) (That's my vow, anyway -- as God is my witness...)
I guess, on that happy note, I will get started around here on this snowy, frosty Monday morning. Thanks for visiting, gang! See ya real soon! I swear!!
