Yes, I'm still here!! Just up to my eyeballs in writing projects that need completing before I leave the country for almost an entire month.
Remember that script I was working on in August, for that DVD a local nursing school was producing for its students to help them pass a practical exam? Yes, well, I've been sort of reminding them, periodically, that I will be gone for all of October and they should keep that in mind as they (take forever to) discuss whatever changes they'll want me to make to the script... so of course yesterday they finally had the follow-up meeting with me and they want all the changes by Friday. (And they only want them by Friday because Thursday was absolutely out of the question for me and Thursday was when they really wanted them.)
Jeepers. And yes -- or I mean, NO! -- the Kindle edition of the new novel is still not completed because I went away for an overnight road trip (that was wonderful) and then I spent some time celebrating belated birthdays with my family (i.e., eating CAKE), and now I have this other stuff distracting me, but last night I assured someone in L.A. that the Kindle edition would be ready by this weekend because she's writing an industry blog post about it.
Meanwhile, I'm also thinking: How can I possibly pack 3 weeks' worth of fall clothes in a suitcase when I still have all my summer clothes hanging in the closet??? I don't even remember what kind of clothes I have for fall b/c they're all packed away. When will I have time to switch the clothes over and then pack and then also take a bunch of clothes over to Goodwill while I'm at it b/c I have way too many freakin' clothes????
I also mentioned to my new housemate that I wanted to get rid of a bunch of clothes and empty out a closet in Fluffy's room for him to use if he wanted it. He said hopefully, "Another closet is always good." He's stuffed to the gills in that room he's in so now he probably has his hopes up that I might get to it before I disappear for a month. I also mentioned to him that I would clean out the pantry and throw out a TON of old boxes of food-type stuff that I will never eat, that is, like 4 years old already, so that he can have some space in the pantry, too. Right now, he can fit about 2 things in there. But I'm looking at my life and I'm looking at that pantry and I'm privately thinking: It ain't gonna happen anytime soon.
What I would really like to have happen in the next two weeks is figure out a way to manifest about 17 thousand dollars because all the money I had saved for my trip keeps disappearing. Bills keep popping up all over the place that need paying. Scotts Lawn Service keeps coming when they're not expected. And my new lawn mower/weed remover guy keeps coming and taking care of things when I'm not home to tell him, "No, PLEASE don't do anything more until the end of October -- I can't afford this!!" So, alas, I come home now to a BEAUTIFUL fucking yard and totally wonderful gardens that I should have had all summer long but didn't with the old lawncare guy, and I'm beside myself. SHIT! I have this beautiful lawn!! But I have to EAT while I'm in Europe!!
Yes. It's called stress. But I'm still managing to meditate every morning and do yoga in the evening. And I'm so damned excited about this trip that I just figure, oh well, it'll all work out somehow. Worse comes to worst, I'll be really skinny in Europe and look like a supermodel everywhere I go! Yay!! It'll be spectacular!! what could be better than looking like a supermodel everywhere you go?
Okay. Me thinks I'd best get back to work around here. Time's a-wastin' gang. Thanks for visiting, though. Oh and yes!! I will be blogging from Europe so hold onto your hats!! See ya, gang.
[Above is a sample of a photo from Paris that won't look anywhere near this impressive when I'm taking it!]
