The winds here are ferocious enough and we are barely at the very farthest edge of the hurricane. The temperature is at 35 degrees Fahrenheit, but the high winds are making it feel like 22 degrees to my little kittens. When I went down to feed them at 5 AM, it was snowing out. But they were as frisky as ever -- they have been safe inside the little cat house I made for them on Saturday night. The house is only half-insulated but it is good enough for now.
So I am grateful for that -- and for having heat and hot water and electricity and wifi.
I know for sure that a couple of my friends in NYC are all right, but I am still waiting to hear back from most of them...
What a storm. The problem with loving people and animals is that storms feel like nightmares until you know everyone is safe.
