So, are you ready for 2013? Lord knows, I am. 2012 had some incredibly beautiful moments -- some things I wouldn't trade for anything in the world; memories that will stay in my heart forever. But overall, I have to say, it was one of the hardest fucking year's I've had in my whole life!!
And it's almost over!! Yippee ki yi yay!!
In church yesterday, my pastor preached about this leaving of the old year and entering the new year by talking about the Exodus and about God delivering the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt -- but then delivering them into 40 years of wandering the desert. So then a lot of the Hebrews thought that slavery in Egypt had been better than wandering the desert for 40 years and wished they could go back to Egypt.
The point to his sermon was that when God delivers us to a new life, the old life is over; the good as well as the bad, you know?
So as I say goodbye to 2012, it looks like I am not only saying goodbye to a terrifically difficult year, I am also saying goodbye to the main person who made 2012 liveable at all. And I regret that. However, part of undertaking a new life, is being delivered from the old one -- the good as well as the bad.
So, here's to a peaceful, prosperous, joyful -- and maybe a bit bittersweet-- 2013 for all of us.
As a parting gift for leaving 2012, I want to share with you something that has helped to turn my life around this past year. It is Louise Hay's List of Basic Beliefs. I think this list is about 30 years old, but it is still vital. I read this list every morning, as soon as I get out of bed. I have been doing it for about 9 months now, and it truly has made a difference in how I approach my days, and concurrently, what my days then deliver to me. I hope you will find something meaningful for yourself within it.
Louise Hay's Basic Beliefs [drum roll]
1. I am always safe. The Universe takes care of me and I am led and guided every moment.
2. Whatever I need to know is revealed to me.
3. Everything I need comes to me in perfect time-space sequence. I release the struggle of trying to make things happen.
4. Life is a joy and filled with love.
5. I am loving and I am loved.
6. I prosper wherever I turn by asking "how can I help?"
7. My income is constantly increasing.
8. I am willing to grow and to change. There is so much more to learn.
9. I am willing to become more of myself.
10. All is well in my world.
I hope everyone has a safe and meaningful New Year's Eve. Thanks for visiting!! See ya in the New Year!!
