Mariette Ana Papic's Biography
Member Info
A writer and photographer and accidental technologist, Mariette's work includes deeply personal poetic stylings to outlier theories on consciousness and technologies. Her focus is on the modern experience of voice via graffiti, the Internet and the politics of culture. Mariette has worked in Market Strategy, and Media, learning much about the shiny politics of fear based manipulation. She has held positions with non-profits, universities and has also made her way through the electronic music underground. She has been on the Board of NYC's Foundry Theatre and has worked with the Malian NGO L'institut pour l'education populaire (IEP). She has spoken on television and radio as a member of Occupy Yoga and is a lazy but proud contributor to Denver's 12Questions Blog. Her first chapbook "Electric Bathtub Psalms" details her sentiments of becoming digital in a New York, post 9/11 landscape. Her first self-published book will be a Social Media Guidebook for non-theorists and her next book on Laughing Mouse Press will be "Living Liminal" and audio/ebook exploration of the artwork and the character she created during the wee hours of the morning of the early 2000s.
Mariette enjoys performing poetry, especially in Austin, Texas. She was born in Newark, NJ to Croatian immigrants. She enjoys cooking, herbalism, hiking, dancing and observing the rest of the human population. She Tweets and Instagrams as @MsPapic and is currently obsessed with paradigm shift, digital nomadism and the gamification of myth making.
