Maria Semple began her 15-year career in television writing thanks to her good friend Darren Star, who gave her a job on "Beverly Hills 90210." She has written for "Ellen," "Saturday Night Live," "Mad About You" and "Arrested Development" and has recently published her debut novel, This One is Mine. Maria will read from her novel and discuss the art of television writing with Darren Star, creator of "Beverly Hills 90210," "Melrose Place" and "Sex and the City."
