A REVOLUTIONARY MISTAKE

The New York Society Library (one of the Big Apple’s oldest locations) found in its ledgers two missing books that were checked out by the Father of our Country. You guessed it… George Washington is delinquent on returning Law of Nations, and a volume of debates from Britain’s House of Commons. Needless to say, if he were alive today, Washington would owe a hefty fine, since the books were due back on November 2, 1789!! Actually the library isn’t concerned about the fines, but would love to have the books returned.
By the way, John Jay, Aaron Burr, and Alexander Hamilton also checked out books from this historic location. (I wonder what their library cards are worth?)…

Manny Pacheco spent years researching actors such as Claude Rains, Peter Lorre, Cesar Romero, Frank Morgan, and Basil Rathbone, to name a few. His fresh take was to show how their films offered a parallel to America's history. At a time when most entertainers write tell-all books about themselves, it's refreshing to see one write about history.
