One year when my two boys were about teen and pre-teen age they each decided to make me a cassette tape of my favorite songs as my holiday gift (yes, we had tapes in those days). They chose independently which songs I liked and recorded them onto a tape, one titled "Mommy's Songs" the other "Mom's Playlist." And I was thrilled to receive them. That they were so observant and that they cared so much about me to know what songs I liked was one of my all-time-best gift. For them to take the time to find my songs and record them for me made that holiday season very special.
I also was amazed that there were no duplicates. Each tape had a unique set of songs. And each song on each of the tapes was one I truly liked.
I listened to those tapes for years afterward. And I still have them. I need to find a way to transfer them to a format that would allow me to listen to them again.
