So yesterday ended a case that I have been working on for nearly twelve years, longer than my youngest daughter has been alive. This was a case we took all the way up to the California Supreme Court and all the way back to where it started. It was quite a journey and part of me is sad that it is over. I enjoyed the camaraderie with my clients, who over the years became friends, and I enjoyed the fight (which is probably why I became a lawyer). I even miss the times when we lost, but lived to battle another day with renewed vitality.
A piece of my life can now be put behind me. I can only hope I have another legal adventure that turns out to be as rewarding and educational. This case proved that even this old dog could learn some new tricks along the way.
